In a world of bots and schemes so bold,
A tale unfolds, a story told.
Mall cops march with a watchful eye,
Little did they know, their time would pass by.

Machines with cameras high, the cold, the glare.
started to give the workers scare
Promising aid beneath the sky, Don’t worry said corporate- you’ll be fine
But workers found their roles replaced
Contractors of some other place you see
You never worked for us so- go away
Or the bot can escort you from the property

Walmart’s Gig Workers Are Struggling to Survive

Voluntary skies turned gray,
Forced mandates came, a price to pay.
“Pick up a shift, obey or fall,”
Record’s weight, like chains in thrall.

Workers pushed, until they snapped,
Revolt in actions, courage tapped.
Packages hurled, defiance flew,
Resisting schemes, standing true.

Roads received the thrown and tossed,
Items kept, a line uncrossed.
Buttons clicked, illusions spun,
Delivered,” when the deed was none.

Stamped in anger, items scarred,
Resistance’s flag, firmly marred.
Wrongs returned with fierce intent,
Workers’ message firmly sent.

Walmart’s tapestry woven thin,
Deletions marked where words had been.
Silent stance, their notices cleared,
New program’s dawn, hope reappeared.

Changes shaped, the program grew,
In the echoes, a line they drew.
Walmart’s stance, a + now swayed,
A chapter closed, a part portrayed.

One day I will write my story, and drop it as a fictional novel. Paradoxically my words are not lies.
